DEP Lucas

So, my family's dog, Lucas, got hit by a car today and died. This has not been a good day so far. We went out to go to church, and saw the dog lying over by the side of the road. It was very dead, which was good, because I don't know how my host mom would have handled rushing the dog to the vet only to have it die there. She was pretty devastated as it was. The dog got hit in the head, looked like, which was also good, because that meant it wasn't spitting up blood like the last time it got hit by a car. Yeah, this dog was not good about being in the street. I'm only surprised that there aren't more dead dogs all over the place. People just let their dogs run out in the street, and people here drive really, really, really terribly. Anyways, we dug a grave out in the garden, taking care not to dig up the other dead dog that's buried there. We ran into newspaper about two feet down, though, and then Rosita remembered that they buried the cat in the garden too. Urgh... But we avoided disenterring a skeleton, so, that was good. I've got blisters on my hands now, from the pick and the shovel, but they're not bad. Así es la vida.

Hey, thanks for commenting on my blog, Pam. I hope you get into MIT too! I should be finished with my novel by next Sunday, but I'm going to try to make it earlier, because I'm anticipating major problems trying to get it verified, because of the extreme slowness of the internet here. I haven't been updating my wordcount on NaNoWriMo.org for exactly this purpose. We'll see. Ciao.

Hey son,

We miss you - I am glad you were there for Anita. Its awful when dogs die- and this sounds like it was really awful.

If you like, you can send me the novel and I'll verify it for you with Nanawrimo.

Bye for now!
